The Somerville Elections Department oversees all local, state, and federal elections, registers voters, and keeps election-related public records, including campaign finance reports. How to Vote:

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election days. You can also vote by mail, by absentee ballot, or vote early in-person.

How to Run for Office

Information on the requirements to run for City office and how to get on the ballot.

Book an appointment with the Elections Department staff to pull or drop off nomination papers.

Search for, and see, campaign finance reports filed by the candidates and elected officials.

Census Information

Download a blank census form to fill out the information about people living in your home and return to the City either by mail, fax or email.

The federal government's website for the national Census conducted every ten years.

Automark Voting Machines are available at each polling location. These voting machines will mark ballots based on verbal cues from the voter.

All voters may request assistance in completing a ballot with the Polling Location Warden or Somerville Police Officer at the location.

Braille Embossed and large print copies of all three ballot questions will be available for review at all polling locations. Updated Braille embossed and large print charter summaries are available at all library branches and the City Hall 311 desk.
